Fire Engines

At the start of the year I bought the remains of a Dennis Fire Engine that was new to the Birmingham Fire Brigade in 1922. I have some photos of it here:

It was appliance 38 with the Brigade.

I am keen to know more about the BFB and have started looking through the records at the Birmingham archives. It would be great to confirm the original registration (probably OK2124) and to find out the station(s) at which it served.

Information on any of the other early fire engines would be great too.

Thanks,

Ben

Ben,
My Grandfather drove one of those fire engines, I know that is of no use to you but he was the fire Chief of Bartley Green and he used to moan about it as on occasions the bar supporting the ladders used to break sometimes and he would have to drive with the ladders resting on his shoulders, this was due to the rough roads.
