hi folks...thanks to my brothers skip diving many years ago i have got loads of old paperwork from this company..makes very interesting reading and lots of old stamps as well lovely social history..dating from the early 1900s to the 1960s at which point their address was feldar works hampton st...things like old bank cheques..statements..orders on postcards..telegrams..old bank book dated 1916 all from an an when business was conducted so differently from todays high tech way..i was just wondering if we could find out a bit more about the company and if its still trading and maybe find photos of the company i really hate throwing anything like this away..would fit in well in something like a general industrial museum..thanks for any help

Fellows and Darby Ltd is no longer in business.
The company was a historical entity and is now dissolved.

would also be good to know who was fellows and who was darby...i wonder if any of our members or members rellies worked for them

F&D was in existence from at least 1899 and listed as Turners at 72 Slaney Street.

1913 UK patent for improvements in grinding, sand-papering and analogous machines. Daniel Darby, Charles Henry Fellows, George Harley Fellows.

1918, probably the incorporation. Buisiness specialises in cases for Jewelry and surgical instruments.
 
They were originally listed as woodworkers at 72 Slaney St. in 1897. By 1904 they described themselves as pattern makers and between 1933 and 1936 they were listed as shopfitters
They moved from Slaney St to Hampton St between 1958 and 1961
They are still in Hampton St in the 1973 Kellys, . The last mention in the newspaper archives is in December 1976.
