My Grandfather was chief designer for Fattorinis. He started working for them in Bradford, then moved to Birmingham with them about 1927. He stayed there until he retired in 1952 when he was 80 & died 2 years later. He designed & engraved the previous FA cup, the 1948 Olympic medals, the mayor...

I looked it up the building is still there it’s the most expensive building in the city apparently it’s getting made into apartments I think
 
this is the building which goes around the corner into harford st...i agree its sad to see our old buildings ending up looking like this..there is a massive amount of construction going on around this area
