Hello and thank you Lynn looking for any information on Alfred George Jones husband of Eva Doris Jones née pedley I think father was Thomas geeves Jones had brothers only name I have I Leslie Jones killed sicily in ww2 many thanks

Alfred George Jones appears to have been the son of Thomas Geeves Jones and Elizabeth Nash.

Thomas Geeves Jones b1876, appears to have been the son of Abraham Jones and Caroline Doughty.

If son then siblings were Florence Agnes b1899, Thomas Walter b1904, Hilda b1910 and Leslie b1916.

Elizabeth Nash b1880, appears to have been the daughter of Walter Nash and Letitia Blunt.

Walter was a publican in 1891 at 74 New Summer St.

Sorry, there's no name just the number. 72 is listed between court 12 and court 14 in 1891.

There is a newspaper article 30 Sep 1891 Bham Daily Post, it mentions a Walter Nash who keeps Bird-in-Hand beerhouse, Summer Lane. So perhaps he didn't live at the pub/beerhouse?

The 1892 Kellys, which probably refers to 1891, has Walter Nash as a shopkeeper at 75 New Summer St. the pub is at 71 and is the Old Paul Pry, with Richard Upton as the landlord. He is listed athere as a shopkeeper till the 1897 edition, but has gone by the 1899 edition., unless he has changed his trade to bootmaker at 312 Highgate road. Below is the c1889 map, with 71 & 75 marked

My apologies. All the information I gave was correct - I searched for Walter Nash in Kellys. However, unusually, he appears twice, and , in addition to being a shopkeeper, he was also a beer retailer, as seen below, and I missed this

To add to that, The 1891 and 1881 censuses do not name the beerhouse. The street was renumbered just after 1880 , so previously what was later 74, was earlier no 69. The 1871 census names it as the Daniel O'Connell (I think, but see below)
