Im looking into my mums family, some of her family lived in Birmingham, Richard Fancote had a tailor shop in the late 1800s He outlived all his children bar one called Lily she married a Ernest Banks. but I cant find anything else about her.
The Fancotes mostly come from Smethwick area.

Hi susan, i assume you have the 1891 Census, i have just looked and see she was born c1880

Lily Fancote 4th qtr 1880 Birmingham 6d 11

And i assume she is the one married 2nd qtr 1903

Living 26 Spring Rd, Edgbaston

Ernest & Lily Banks + 4 children
Raymond Ernest 7yr
Bernard Wilfred 6yr
Philip Joseph 2yr
Kathleen Mary 10 mths

Thanks for replying Ive been looking for ages, This part of the Fancote family seemed to have alot of bad luck.
Richards 1st wife was a Emmas Whitton, I see your looking for a family called Whitten wonder if they could be related with the change of spellings in names.

Might explain why i couldn't find any more births, Banks with mothers maiden name Francote
