Looking for information on Louisa Fallon and family. She married David Downing 1868-1956, believe it was a short marriage and only one child. They probably lived around the Heath Street Winson Green area.

Haven't found Louisa yet and you might have these details. David Downing (born 23 Sept 1868) is on the 1939 register with wife Sarah at 7/381 Heath St. Children Dennis (born 1921), Kathleen (born 1929) and one closed record. In 1927 e. roll he is at 7 Alton Place (part of Heath Street) with Sarah. He is on the 1950 e.roll at 11/387 Heath Street with Sarah.
Is this the right person?

When Louisa married David Downing in 1916 she was Louisa Barnes having previously married Joseph Barnes in 1904.
On the 1911 census she is a widow born 1880,living with her father John Fallon at
71 Upper Grove street Smethwick with 2 daughters
Mary Barnes age 6 and Louisa Barnes age 4

David Downing and Louisa had one son John in 1917.

A death in Birmingham of a Louisa Downing in 1920 age 40

David Downing married Sarah Ackrill in 1927 her maiden name Keough she married Benjamin Ackrill in 1903 he died in 1925 the Dennis Downing on the 1939 census was reg, Dennis Ackrill mother Keough.

Sarah and Benjamin had 2 children on 1911 census Benjamin 5 and Hilda 2 also had Reginald 1013,Eileen 1916 and Dennis 1921.

Thank you for that, birthdates for Dennis and Kathleen are not an exact match for the information I have the addresses are on the mark. Thanks again
 
Funny you should say that as when I did a birth record search Dennis was a year out. 1939 register gives his dob as 4 Feb 1921 but he was registered in Feb 1922. Kathleen's was 7 April 1929 but birth was registered in April 1927.

It looks like Sarah was having a relationship with David Downing whilst still married to Ackrill.
still doesn't explain why he was registered twice or why he put 4th Feb 1921 on 1939,although on the death record of Dennis David Downing his birthdate is given as 24th February 1921.
Janice although as you say the birth of Kathleen was registered 1927 if you look at the 1939
writing for the 9 it could easily have been a smudgy 7,lol.
 
I`ve just had a go at tracing one of my relatives, Sarah Smith, born in Brum about 1955, & it returned over 10 million hits.!! It was on a free search so i don`t think i`ll take it any further.
 
Kathleen was my mother so I should never get her birthdate wrong. Dennis birthdate real mixup with him Keogh and Ackrill on his birth certificate. Just pleased to get any information and appreciate all the work you folks do in these searches.

Murky goings on in those days, David had I believe over 16 children. I know there were no televisions but that was ridiculous.

So was it 1927 or 1929?
 
It was 23rd April 1927. Sorry should have put that in the previous post. Bit of an amateur me but slowly catching up.
