Everyone loves him, down at the pub, always laughing, stand a round, tell a joke
Yes everyone loves him, good for a sub, all agree that he's just a great bloke

The publicans love him, he throws cash around, the bookies? They love him as well
And the lads they all love him, if you want a few pound no problem just give him a bell

And his wife, she must love him or why would she stay when he beats her each week black and blue
And his daughter she loves him, he’s her dad so she thinks that these are the things that dads do

So he’s a great chap and everything’s fine but there’s one point I’d just like to take up
Maybe I’ve just fell behind with the times but should six year olds wear all that make-up?

For Kate and all the victims that have been
I hope you know nothing but sunshine and happiness for the rest of your days

Excellent Jerry - I was waiting for a serious piece from you, and thought it may not match up to your wonderful humerous pieces, that we've all grown so fond of......................

But my mistake......................

You've EXCELLED any piece of humour you could ever write

I have the greatest admiration for men who write like this...............

Enough now...............heads fitting through doors and all that.......................

Your numero uno fan...........sorry girls.............join the queue

A very emotional piece Jerryd - Guys who can abuse their wives and kids can appear the life of the party down at the pub, or even at the dinner party with the smart friends - but when they get home or alone with their wives and kids it's a different story. And I agree entirely with the last comments about 6 year old girls!!!!!

It's great isn't it Jerry ? These chaps go out of their way to help neighbours and even total strangers and then go home and abuse their "nearest and dearest". Thing is most of these people would gasp in astonishment if the woman left and wouldn't believe why.
Great insight, for a man. Sorry but you have enough admirers already - ok then - can I be number 4 fan.

Does anyone else think that the craze for little ones to go around with their names on their tee-shirts is very dangerous. Why do the stores sell such sexy underwear for small girls. I actually saw a tee shirt which said something like "so many girls, so few boys" The garment was to fit ages from THREE onwards. I complained to the store and a few days later someone wrote to a tabloid newspaper and the tee shirt was taken off the shelves.

I think I need a good belly dance gels before I explode.

Hi everyone
What you say about little girls "dressing up" is true but it wasn't what I was thinking of when I wrote the poem
The poem was based on a family I 've known for many years and the little girl was my Goddaughter. her mother used to put the make-up on her face to cover the bruises, so my question was meant to be ironic or something
Sorry about the confusion, not that it changes the truth of what you're all saying
By the way Kate, I sent you a PM explaining this before i looked at these postings
Cheers everybody :?

I did too................makeup is commonly used buy the woman - how sad that a child had to experience her first application of make up that way..........sadly I feel she may always associate make up with awful memories

I wonder if it was a mistake, commonly men try not to mark a woman where the injury may be seen - and if it happens, its usually the woman who finds the excuse for the injury 'I was clumsy and banged my head'.........'I fell and broke two ribs again'.............'Silly me I...........................'
