PJay

knowlegable brummie
Good afternoon all.

I'm research the above company who were in Upper Gough Street Birmingham (definitely up to 1921) I can find information re Ernest, brother of William one of the Architects for Bournville village etc but nothing at all on Ashby.

Any ideas of were to look please.

Many thanks

There's a William Henry Ashby b1869 Bham on the 1911 census listed as a Stained Glass Window Manufacturer living with his sister in the Kings Norton district (possibly in Edgbaston).

In 1921 appears to still be in Kings Norton.

Also in 1939 The Burne-Jones windows from Birmingham Cathedral were removed to be housed in "some subterranean" place, somewhere in England. This was carried out by the firm Harvey and Ashby.
