That was one of the Pubs my Dad played the piano in on Saturdays and Sundays... Here's what it looked like from the outside. Lynn your pic' to me looks like it was sometime in the mid 1950's

That was one of my haunts many years ago and right up until the eighties a couple of my good friends ran it then tommy and breeda doyle
tommy was one of the demolition builders in birmingham it was his family and john cole was the excact owner whom was also in the demo bussiness he also owned the adam and eve in bradford street at the same time they then sold the emily in the eightys to anther demo builders in brum the browns whom bought the hen and chicks in rocky lane aston after moving from the coach and horses in bordesley green john eventualy sold his two pubs and the emily to tom and eventualy the great couple tom and breeda the lovely colleeen lady went to move in stour port they bought another pub and brownie had the emily there was some great times down at the emily oh and yes i forgot to mention
that john cole the rose taveren as well as the othere two it was from there that tom went to before selling the emily and moving on to stourport
