not sure if this is the right place to post this
if its in the wrong place sorry in advance

i would like some advice on the best way of tracing a person who moved to south africa in the 60's
she is my dads younger sister
my dads older sister and possable the only surving one left out the three of them has tried and got no where so has asked me
all i have is a name and a date of birth and a possable year she left for south africa
other than that i have nothing else and havnt a clue where to start
i dont even know if she is still alive

any help or information would be greatfully recived

Hi Celia, you could Google the South African High Commission in London; and through their site, seek advice. Or, contact the South African 'Salvation Army' - the 'Sally-Ann' often find missing relatives; or at least give good advice as how to proceed. They've successfully helped me trace people in Australia, in the days before the internet; so it's probably easier now.

thankyou so much for you information i would never have thought of contacting the sally army or the south african high commission in london

I have emailed the south african salvation army and awaiting a reply and i shall be writing to the south african high commision to see if they can offer any help
