Egginton Surname -

Den

proper brummie kid
Hi All
I'm looking for information and the parents of William Egginton.
He married a Phoebe Hicks - lived in Aston/Nechells Birmingham area.
William was killed in 1923 as a result of a gas explosion. Phoebe moved out to Australia 1925.
regards

Re: Surname - Egginton

Hi Den, I looked for a death for William and assume it is the one showing him age 61 in 1923.

There isn't amarriage for William Egginton to Phoebe Hicks in Birmingham in the years from 1880 to 1923. But there is in Wolverhampton, Staffordshire, it is quite close to Birmingham, the marriage took place in December Quarter 1888 Wolvehampton Ref 6b 855. If you can order the certificate it will give you the name of Willam and Phoebe's fathers.

I have looked at the 1871 census for William born 1862, there is only one that fits, his father is also William, Glass Cutter and Local Preacher. William Junior was born in Old Swinford Staffordshire.

Hi Den

I have Eggintons in my research. I must check sometime to see if we have a connection.

I think these are Williams parents.

William Egginton Snr (b. c1831 Kingswinford)
Mary Elizabeth Wakeman (ch. 20 Jan 1828 Old Swinford. Parents James & Mary)
They married 25 Dec 1853 Old Swinford Worcs (ref 4q 6c 138 Stourbridge)

You possibly have some/all of this William/Phoebe stuff

Re: Surname - Egginton

Hi Icarus
I greatly appreciate you help.
I have the war service record of William Enoch. He was my uncle; his sister Mary Jane was my grand mother.
The address of 34 Stuart Street Nechells was were my father lived (and maybe born at)
