Hello i am lokking for informaion on jeweller called Edwin Umferville he had a shop in 38 Frederick Street in about 1882 but he closed down about 1883/1884 Thank you Paula:butterfly:

In the 1888 directory there is a Umfreville Charles, copper plate engravers 79 1/2 High St
Umfreville Charles Harlech Vill, Newton Road Spark Hill

In the 1873 directory there are
Umfreville Chas, Engraver, Lithograph, & printer, Caroline St,
Umfreville Edwin, Whlsl, jwlr, 42 Frederick St, H Knowle
Umfreville Henry, engraver, & Lithographer, yard, 23 1/2 Cannon St, H Frederick Place, George St ,Lozells,

It would appear in 1873 he was living in Knowle

Paula In directories they are listed as Edwin Umfreville . They first appear between 1858 and 1862 at 42 Frederick St. From then till 1872 they are listed as a jewellery factor of wholesaler, but in 1873 they are listed as manufacturing jewellers.
In 1887 and 1884 they are listed at a different address, Exchange buildings, 38 Frederick St, a few doors away, but have gone (as you say) by 1888.
Incidently, the name is unusual, and there are other Umfrevilles at that time, engravers (Henry and charles , and the firm Umbreville & Makepeace) , the engraving arm of the family both preceding and outlasting the jewellery arm.
