Edward Thomas

ADELE

master brummie
Hello
me again.
Have an Edward Thomas who on the 1881 census is living on Burbury / Lozells street at the Queens head pub. Was wondering if he was still in charge of the pub in 1883 , he died a few years later but sometimes is down as a letter cutter. Confusing hey.
Thanks Adele

hello adele, ive had a look at the kellys directory for 1884 which would mean info from 1883 and yes the entry is thomas edward - beer retailer -99 lozells road, bham

Once again you have found out info for me, many many thanks to you both. Im still a little confussed to him being a letter cutter on his daughters birth certificate maybee he kept two jobs.
Thanks Adele:)

are you certain that you have the correct family. edward thomas was at the queens head in 1861 too so it seems a life time occupation :)

Hi Shera
not sure it is Edward Thomas, i have the daughters birth certificate with him being a letter cutter. The same certificate gives Ann as being her mother and that matches what is on 3 more census.
I have done searches for other Edwards in the area but no one matches. Im sending for the marriage certificate next
Thankyou for your help again
Adele

Thats Edward!
I gave most of that information to the Ray family tree haha, im on Ancestry.
As you can see he married twice, his first wife died fairly young and he remarried Ann Everitt. As you found he is down as a beer retailer but also a letter cutter on Amy s birth certificate.
I have just filled in a form to get the marriage certificate, I want to find out his father and to see what he did when he married Ann. I might just get his death certificate at the same time.:)
