Would be nice to get in touch with some other Eccleston descendants! My grandmother was Emily Eccleston, born 1896. Family came from Small Heath. Her siblings' names are: George (1876), Florence(1883), Sarah(1890) and William (1892).

Hi Janet, I knew a William (Bill) Ecclestone, he was a Foreman builder with Whittalls building company and they did lots of work for Joseph Lucas, Shaftmoor Lane, Hall Green, that is where i know him from.

Thanks for response! The trouble is, I do not know any Ecclestons after the ones I have listed. (The name does not have an E on the end by the way if that makes any difference!)

They were living at 9 St Davids Place, Bissell Street (off McDonald St, Highgate)
Local Church ,St Davids,, came under St Martins Parish.
Head; George Eccleston age 45 Bricklayer, Wife Ann age 44, Screw Trade
Dau Florence age 18, Screw Trade(with Mom) Son George age 25, Stamper Iron Trade
Dau Sarah age 11, Son William age 9, & your Emily age 4.

Hello again everyone!
Thanks you all for your replies.
I'm OK (pretty much) with going back with my tree - have sent for a certificate or two, and have had help from some kind people on here also.
I suppose I'm really trying to go forwards, and I don't think that's possible without contacting members of the same family - or am I missing something?
As I say, thanks for replying, I really do appreciate it.
