I used to go to visit the memorial books in the book room
at Lodge Hill but times and days have changed there too There is an electronic version outside and online but it's not the same as paying respects properly.

rosie its bad enough finding time to pay respects or find family graves but this latest news will only make it more difficult

Also the offices at many cemeteries are closed now so the's no-one to ask for directions even if you have the references. Lodge Hill were helpful a few years ago but I don't know if that's the case now. Uplands in Smethwick are very good though.

same with witton...always used to be very helpful...not sure but i think their offices are closed now

yes rosie during covid they said when its over they will actually lead me to grandads unmarked grave (served in ww1) and then of course it never came about...i have a fairly good idea where he is but cant be certain....
