The interior was used on UB40's best of album cover, also featured in the Red Red Wine video, think at one stage they sponsored a boxing school upstairs, then it was called the cauliflower ear!

At least the building as been boarded up properly now. It was looking a right state a couple of months ago with most of it's window smashed.
I'm convinced that pub will open again one day.

That would be great if it did.

So sad to see my Great grandads pub in such a state. Henry Nott Hobday my GREAT GREAT GRANDAD had the Eagle & Tun prior to my GGandad William Wright Jenney & his Wife Eliza Buttonshaw Jenney (Nee Hobday )
I do hope it is saved for all time.

It was also used on the best of Vol2 album cover. I used to drink in there a lot in the late 90's and ealy part of this century. At one point the did lovely meals in the back room.
I hope it is protected somehow. I remember it having a beautiful interior with a great traditional bar.

Also used to drink it the Woodman just up the road. I remember there being issues with the pub when they were building millenium point and they want to pull it down. That pub also had a great interior with bizar wooden toys hanging from the ceiling. Had many a great lock in in that pub!
