My Greatgran Dad WILLIAM WRIGHT JENNEY ran that pub in the late 1800s along with his wife Eliza Buttonshaw Jenney (Nee Hobday).
I had hoped to get to see inside & have a drink with the spirits of my ancesters now that seems I will not be able to do, so sad another bit of history gone.
Can any one tell me if & how I could find any documentation re licencees of this pub a round the 1800. I have census details but would the brewery or the city have any more details re when my GGDad may have taken over/left the licencee.
I have him at the NELSON in Loveday St at some time after this time?
Any INFO would be much appreciated
Here it is from a different angle, showing some of the waste ground around it.Wonder if it's closed to make way for a new development? It is indeed so close to town, and a lot of that area is scheduled for redevelopment.
