Doctor Diery, Balsall Heath Road

As a little boy back in the fifties our Doctor was in Balsall Heath Road. He was a very genial Irish man called Dr Diery, and you didn't need an appointment. My lasting memory is the packed waiting room with everyone smoking and the air blue with smoke. Then off to Linex chemist's for some pink medicine.
