Some of you may remember a couple of years ago there was a request on the forum for information re George Dexter, we were able to help the poster to find George through Shard End British Legion where George commissioned a stone memorial "Remembering with pride and gratitude men of all three services lost from s.s. Slamat, HMS Diamond and HMS Wryneck sunk by eneny aircraft off Greece on 27th April 1941 the survivors were 1 Naval Officer, 41 Naval Ratings, 8 Soldiers.

Dutch film crews visited George now 92 years old to capture his version of events. Historian Ed van Lierde is trying to attract funding for the film and made an appeal to British production companies to try and get his dream off the ground.

Nice to think we played a part in this. Unfortunately, I cannot find the original postings about this.
