Dean family in St. Martin's Parish, Birmingham 1700s

There are two Dean families in the town of Lewiston, Niagara County, New York in the US in the 1800s. One of them is the family of Frederick W. Dean, born ca 1799 England. The other is the family of Edgar S. Dean, born in 1815 at St. Martin, Birmingham, Warwick, England. He came to the US as a young man. His descendants know that he was from this location in England and that his father's name was Thomas Dean.

There are similarities in the naming pattern for the children of these two families, plus other possible connections. It seems possible that Frederick, my gr gr grandfather, and Edgar were related.

My question is, on the baptism records for St. Martin's parish in the 1790s (or maybe 1800-1802), is there a baptism for Frederick W. Dean and are his parents listed? None of his paper records in the US give any hint where he was from in England. From family stories, we think he did not want to be connected with his home area or relatives in England, once he came to America (around 1820-1822.

I would be very appreciative if someone who has access to St. Martin's parish records could see if there is a Frederick W. Dean listed. Thank you.

i dont know if you have the full details of the 1815 baptism of edgar??

13th july 1815 edgar sampson son of thomas and elizabeth dean. abode - green lanes in the parish of aston. fathers occ. - gun stocker.

unfortunately, previous to this date the baptisms were just one line on a record. date, name of child and parents names. i have searched as best i can back to 1790 (some of the records are very difficult to read) and i cannot find a frederick dean baptism

Hello Shera:

Thank you for sending this information and for your efforts at looking at the records. I do not know if the descendants of Edgar S. Dean have the detail of his baptism record, but I will pass this along to them. We keep in touch, trying to find a relationship between Edgar and my gr gr grandfather, Frederick.

Just knowing that the baptisms of St. Martin's back to 1790 do not show a Frederick Dean proves a negative and tells me that I need not continue this line of research. This bit of information is helpful, and I thank you again.
