Deakin Road, Erdington

Does anyone know about the history of Deakin Road (opposite the old Jaffray Hospital site) in Erdington? It was formerly known as Deykin Road and I wondered where the name was derived from? I have just bought a terraced house on the road, dating back to circa 1902, and am planning to restore it (reinstating the traditional timber sash windows and doors, and plaster work inside). Apparently the original Erdington fire station was on Deakin Road; this has recently been converted into three townhouses. I would love to see any old pictures if anyone has some to post on here.

I have just walked past the house with "Old Fire Station" on the wall. Would love to see an old photo of it.
