Davis Amplace Unusual Name -

golfy

proper brummie kid
This lady with the unusual name is my Great Aunt. Does anyone recall the name or know any info about her or her family? I believe she may have had sisters called Doris, Nellie and Annie.

Re: Unusual Name - Amplace Davis

A quick search of ancestry (mind you knowing their search engine it may have missed some out) showed only one Amplace. This was in 1871 , Amplace Meredith , 3years old, female, in Oldbury. It didn't register as a surname either.

Re: Unusual Name - Amplace Davis

Re Amplace Meredith, there was an Amphlia Meredith born in West Bromwich in 1868, is this the same girl?
According to freeBMD, there were six 'Amphlia' or 'Amphlias' - named children born between late 1860 and early 1884, all locally: 3 in West Bromwich, 2 in Kings Norton and one in Dudley. None were Davis, though.

Golfy, if you click on the symbol between her name and age, you will see the details of the person who posted a correction on the spelling of her name, and if you want to you can contact that person.
