David Price, Price family

natty

knowlegable brummie
Hi I'm trying to find what happened to someone after 1901. I can see how to look up census' on Ancestry but not electoral roll information. Also wheres the best place to look for people in Scotland? My great grandfather was Edwin David Price who married a Clara Clark in 1892 they lived in Birmingham until i found them on the 1901 census in Sunderland. After that I can't find them. I know my grandfather was born to them in Glasgow, 1 Bain Street, in 1908 and his name was archibald. I also know they came back to Wolverhampton to run a pub but I don't know when. Anyone have clues as to how i canfind out please. Thanks v much.

ive found these electoral rolls for the family.
1920 edwin david price and clara price at 94 pope street.
1922 as above at 175 park rd. aston
1925 as above then same year moved to . near 57, tame rd. bham

Thanks both. Shera that's great - thank you very much. How dod you get that information so I can look at it please? Thanks again

i subscribe to midlandshistoricaldata.org where the birmingham electoral rolls can be seen up to 1955 at present. i think you can buy credits to search or the subscription.
i couldnt see anything else for this family though.

thanks shera. Did it showing anyone else living with them ie children? If so could you get me their names? That would be really helpful. Thanks again (I'm on Ancestry and have just wasted £7 looking at the scottish people thing to find no trace in teh 1911 census so i think they left there between 1908 and 1911. Trying to fill in the gaps between 1911 and 1920!

what a shame you wasted your money.

because its the electoral rolls, there are only people listed of voting age i.e. over 21yrs so no children are recorded.

From Kellys
1921 175 Park Road, Sycamore Tavern. Edwin David Price
In 1921 no 94 Pope St is not listed, but in 1915 it is listed as a beer retailer , which could be a beerhouse or an off licence. During WW1 a number of beerhouses were " persuaded " to close.
Edwin is not listed in the 1915, 1913,1912 or 1910 Kellys
I cannot find him in the wolverhampton section of Hitchmough's "Black Country Pubs, though this has many holes.
Mike

Thanks for tha tMike. Its more than I have managed to find on Kellys. Now I want to see if I can find a picture of the Sycamore Tavern!
I really don't know where to find any more on Edwin as I'm drawing a blank between 1901 census and 19220 (apart from being in Glasgow in 1908). I now know two more of Archibald's siblings which were Dolly (Doris or Dorothy) who marreid a Jack Harrison and Gladys. we think these are older than ARchibald so somewhere between 1898 and 1908l. The other two siblings i know of are Earnest 1893 and Gerald 1898.
