Hi

I am looking for any information about Lily (sometimes Lilia) Clara Daniel. the family eventually lived in lancashire, but I have reason to believe that Lily was born in Birmingham in 1860-65.Father Robert Daniel.

Thanks

Brenda

Hi Brenda. The only Lily Clara Daniel I can find was a pupil at a private school, in Suffolk on the 1871 census, she was 6 and with her was a Violet Daniells, age 8 both born in Hammersmith, London, There is also a Robert Daniel age 78 living in Hammersmith, on the same cemsus, he was a retired victualler, born Tadcaster York.
I looked for both girls in the birth register but can't find them.
I have just found your second post on Lily and Violet, where John Young found Lilia in 1868. I have looked again at that year and found a Violet Eliza Daniel registered in the March quarter 1868 at a place called Forehoe ref 4b 105. I think it is possible that they were not registered when they were born and for some reason both were registered in 1868, but not at the same time!!
.
Moderators can you merge the two posts please, or we will all be searching separately.

Only problem here is,

Lily Clara Daniel age 1 death registered birmingham June qtr 1869
reference 6d 6

Are they the same child, certificates will verify.

Hi everyone

I have come to the conclusion that Violet and Lily must have been reistered under a different surname. Roberts first wife died round about 1861-3, I am waiting for death certificate to prove this. I know that Robert had 4 daughters to a Priscilla Albon, first one born 1869... registered surname was Albon and in most census they are Albons. So beween his first wife dying and his first child to Priscilla, there were 2 daughters, registered Daniel on all Census. so it looks as though he could have had another 'daliance' in those years and maybe the births of Violet and Lily were registered under another surname, as his other daughters are registered under their mohers surname

I think I have exhausted every avenue looking for them under the surname of Daniel.

Violets middle name was Lloyd and I have marriage and death details for her.

Many Thanks

Brenda
