That's a tragedy and a shock. I know the memorial well. We have friends who live round the corner from there. Its a very quiet residential area

While we bow our heads in honour, the low life should hang their heads in shame.

It is so sad that they find the need to disrespect our war dead.

Maybe in years to come they will realise what they have done in the past.

They always seem to do these things around this time of year. I think they do it to wind us up and get the most publicity for themselves. It would do them good to have a stretch in the army...........now that would sort them out!

You know fewer and fewer people think about those days anymore and we are getting closer and closer to the point when there will be no one left who will have lived during that time. I suspect that when most of us were born it was much closer to the first world war timewise than it is from now to the second one. Gosh, just thinking about it, I was born closer in years to Custers Last Stand than it is from now to the second world war. A daunting thought when you look at the realy ancient technology that was about way back then.
No excuse for this depressing act though. What has been damaged still has a meaning for the nation.

when i was at school in the 1960s i wasn't interested in history and wars.but as i got older i found respect for all our history and the sad loss of lives which is still going on. I can hold my head up and feel proud that i NEVER EVER damaged graves or caused vandalism. what a sad country we live in.
