Mrs Bear 51
master brummie
Greetings,
I have a death cert for a man I believe to be my 3rd Great Grandfather - Joseph BRITTLE, who died September 1859 at 3 Cross Street, parish of St Philips. I'm trying to establish if it is 'my' Joseph BRITTLE or just a man with the same.
The profession appears consistent from census returns & his daughter's marriage cert - he was a bricklayer.
So I wondered where Cross Street was and if it was close to Vale Street - I ask about Vale Street as the informant of the death lived in Vale Street, but I cannot link the name to anyone else in my family tree (at the moment). The informant was Elizabeth PRATT (unfortunately not a daughter, or if she is, it's an errant one I am yet to find).
I know informants don't need to be related to register a death but I was rather hoping for a family member to have registered the death, meaning I could make a confirmed connection.
So any help on Cross Street and Vale Street would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
Jo
