I hope this is in the right bracket if not please frgive and my bepop it into the correct slot please ;
In researching jack crockett and his family name; found that his crockett ancestor were benefactors to the local community.
A Thomas crockett WAS THE KEEPER OF the new INNS ON HOLY HEAD RD IN THE LATE 1700,S
His son john followed his father as a publician became an overseer of the poor and gave land for a chapel of ease
thus leading to chapel street this becam the church of st james in fredrick hackwoods history of handsworth 1908
John crockett was praised as a gentlmanly hos of the old school whom conducted is public house more like a private house ;
ALSO I WOULD LIKE TO MENTION ONE MORE AND THAT IS ;

Re. Crocketts Road, Handsworth.

Thats very interesting Astonian,my wife and I where married at St James lovely church,never gave it much thought how Crockets Road got its name,now I know so thanks.
