Coventry Road Hay Mills

Hi Does anyone remember the big house on Coventry Road opposite the police station in Hay Mills by Forest Road? i used to live there as a child and used to watch the coming and goings at the Police Station.

Hi I lived in Hay Mills till I was thirteen, I remember the police station and the bulls head but I can't place Forest road.

It seems strange that they went so early. Did you hear why?
They were demolished 1972/75 ish, If memory serves the houses were becoming pretty run down, not sure who owned them.
Numbers 1289 - 1301 were owned by Mitchell's & Butler's Brewery, and they survived until the 1980s ( around 1983 ish)

Thinking a little more about those houses, they probably came down before '72, because I was still at Redhill Junior School and left there in '72.

I've never seen any Photos.
In fact the only Photo's I've seen of the entire row between Forest and Waterloo Roads have been of Number 1315 Belmont and The Bulls Head Pub.

There is one here east of the Bulls Head:
