Cottesbrooke Junior And Infant School

Cottesbrooke Junior and infant school still going strong I left there 56 years ago[/QUOTE
I went to Cottesbrooke infant and junior school in the late 60's, early 70's before going to Hartfield Crescent. I have such great memories of the junior school. I still laugh that our headmistress was Mrs Onions and the teacher of my final year was Mr Fryer. Only bad memory was that in the final year we were taught in a portable class room with attached cloak room. One of the kids penciled on another kids coat. When Mr Fryer found out he had the lad bent down in front of the class and hit him with a sneaker until the kid collapsed and still he hit him. I will never forget the look of frenzy on Mr Fryers face, a teacher totally out of control. One great thing about the school was the school dinners, boy were they good. We had Mrs Parrot at the end of our dinner table though and she would NOT close her mouth while eating grrrrrrrrrrrrrr. I remember being in the final year so we were allowed to sit in the gym and watch the moon landing. Boy have you bought back memories.

I went to Cottesbrooke in the mid/late 60’s. It was a great school. My mom was Mrs Mann she was the cook in charge of the kitchen there.

Hello all
Went to Cottesbrooke Jnr in 72 and left in 76. Also went on to Hartfield. I remember all those teachers and Mr Collins, Mrs Tarbuck, and Mrs Marquis. Don't remember slipper incident. Sadly Mr Fryer and Mrs Taggart died in a road accident on the M5, probably in the 90s.
I was in Mrs Fox's class in Y6 (sorry) 4th Year. I remember lots of other kids, inc Judy Ivory, Tim Gathercole, Jonathan Gwynne... ( He might have been Mr Job's class) ... and Monty the Gerbil died in hte hot summer of 76. Mrs Fox was a great teacher. It was probably her that started me on my career... I'm now a Primary teacher.
Cheers
Badgery
