Cookshop at 114 Sandpits

I am clutching at straws here but I have just found out that my Gt Grandparents owned a cookshop at 114 Sandpits, Birmingham in 1911. My GtGrandfather died in 1913 so I assume that my GtGrandmother sold it then.

Does anyone have a photo or any information about this shop. My GGrandfather's name was Patrick Doran.

Thanks in anticipation.

Do you mean he owned or ran the cookshop. Kellys gives the following entries for 114:

1912 Kelly's
114 Salmon Fredk.dining rms
New (The) Hudson Cycle
Co. Ltd. (Parade mills).

In 1908 the entry was
114 BarnesFredW. dining rooms

Thanks for your prompt reply.

I only found this out because of the 1911 census project. I was helping with this and called up the census for my GtGrandparents and to my surprise they were there.

According to the census he was the proprietor of the cookshop He was down as working at home as was his wife. I assume they lived over the shop. I do not know any more that this as until I saw this I did not know they were living in Birmingham.

Hi Brummie66,
I am located in Dublin, Ireland where Patrick Doran was born in 1863 in Crookstown, Athy, County Kildare. He joined theRoyal Artillery in 1892 and his attestation soldier number was 32048. His brother Peter (born 1869) had a son William (born 1906) who married my mother's sister Ada Condon (born 1912). Their daughter Sheelagh Doran (born 1944) is my neice. I have been researching the family line for her for some time now and have just come upon your post regarding the cookshop at 114 Sandpits, Birmingham in 1911.
I have details of Patrick's four brothers and one sister as well as the service records of those who joines the army.
If you are still interested and read this post please respond.
Hope we can both benifit fron cooperation.
Best wishes with your research
