122 Cooksey Road seems to have been a bakers from when it was built around the 1880s, though the first occupant , Thomas Elsmore, was also a coal dealer. Rather an unusual combination., but he remained there till it was taken over by Benjamin Pearson, who was just a baker. Stephen Yorke is listed as the occupant (according to directory entries) from 1910 till 1915, but not in 1908 or 1921. Possibly this is due to a death in WW1. In 1921 it rather strangely belongs to William John Baker , who was a coal dealer!.

I would like to imagine my Gran visiting this shop. After her parents died she, with her younger brother, moved in to 320 Cooksey Road in about 1913. This was the home of her eldest brother and his family. Although the other end of the road it is likely she knew the shop.
She lived there until she married Grandad in 1924
