It is a nice bag Maria! I bet my Dad went there too, he loved technical drawing. I've still got some of the work he did for his apprenticeship.

I noticed they had a shop in the Bull Ring, Mom bought Dad a fountain pen for his 21st. from a shop by the Market and it was bombed the next week. They didn't have much luck as the sheet music shop was

also bombed and they couldn't get the piece they ordered for their Wedding!

That was bad luck! What did they do, rosie?

I've got some of Dad's job sheets from when he worked at Newton Shakespeare.

They wanted "I'll Walk Beside You" to be played as they signed the Register but had to have "In A Monastery Garden" instead!

My brother has his drawing instruments as he needed them too.

You Combridges paper bag is of interest to me as I am researching the history of Combridges. Alderman Cornelius Combridge along with my grandfather William Sibley came to Dublin in 1888 to open a branch of Combridges in Grafton St. I have copies of old stationery from Combridges which state they were founded in 1836. They later opened at second premises in Grafton St. for an art gallery. I worked in the business for 47 years until it finally closed in 2012.
Would appreciate any further information on the early history of this company.
