Re: Got a bit

Greetings,

My Grandfather was known as Dickie Clarke when he was young, for some unknown reason. His real name was Leonard James Clarke. He had a younger brother named Horace Arthur Clarke, and three older sisters who survived named Elizabeth (Lizzie), Agnes and Gladys. I also believe that he had two sisters who did not survive childhood named Amy and Emily. In later life Len was a publican, Horace was in the navy and then worked as a mechanic, I think he lived in Kings Standing. One of the sisters was active in the Salvation army, and another married a gypsy.

His parents were James Clarke and Agnes Cooper, after Agnes died James married Alice Smith nee Boulton who had 5 children by a previous marriage. James and Alice then had a daughter named Alice.

According to their marriage certificate the Father of James was Richard, and the father of Agnes was Charles.

I have several photographs of Agnes, James, Horace, Gladys, Alice and Len.

If this is of interest I have more information I can share.
