Clark George Goodger

I have a marriage cert from 1899 for George Goodger Clark who married Florence Winefride Pitt in St Chad's Cathedral. It says on the cert that her father was Henry William Pitt and lists his profession as 'Stock Broker'.
Is this likely to be true? I cannot seem to find him in any of the census's??
 
Just looking in a 1900 directory I have found two entries for George Clark. The first lived at 22 Poplar Road, Edgbaston. If that was the same as the Poplar Avenue I remember, it would have been a desirable address in those days. I can find no other Poplar Road in Edgbaston, although there was one in Smethwick.
In 1900 there were 36 firms of stockbrokers practising in Birmingham, of which only 20 were members of the Birmingham Stock Exchange. None of them bore the name of Clark, but that means little.

Many thanks for looking that up for me. George Goodger Clark was born in Smethwick and his son (my father-in-law) William Gerard Clark was born at 116 Poplar Ave, Edgbaston, Birmingham. The Stock Broker that I was interested in finding was George's wife's father - Henry William Pitt. On their Marriage cert in 1899 her father is listed as a Stock Broker. George Goodger Clark was born in 1879 and was a Jeweller by trade. His son William lost touch with the family and therefore we know nothing of his brothers and sisters. I have found a brother Stanley Francis Clark born 1912 in Birmingham and another brother George Donald Clark born 1900 in Smethwick but apparently there were 9 kids so I am a long way off. At this stage I am sure they are all dead, but I am interested in find some cousins etc. If there are any other references to the Clark's or Pitt's in your directory I would be very grateful.
