Note
For 1855 there are the whites and the Post Office directories. Probably surveyed
at slightly different times, so have marked on these results which is which. Several
Thomases, so have put together. I think some were brassfounders before becoming
clockmakers, but cannot be sure it was same people so have omitted.
If later Eaves entries are of interest then let me know and i will go further on

Mike thanks very much anything you have is of interest, but what I am keen to find is the Charles Eaves history I have information that he was in Prospect Row in 1835 and 1849 and he died around this time scale. He had several brothers and sons one of whom is my direct line. The Bham Library I understand is closed until later this year so I am just putting together the information ready to make a visit worthwile.

thanks for your input so far, not forgetting horsencart thanks also,

Phillip

Going back a little earlier:
Nothing in 1818
1823 & 1829 Eaves Charles, watch maker, 51, Edgbaston-street
Nothing in 1833
1839 Eaves Charles, clock and watch maker, Prospect row
1839 Eaves John, brass founder and iron forger, 23, Old Summer street
1841 Eaves Charles,victualler , Old Crown , 16 Edgebaston st
1841 Eaves John, brass founder, 23 Summer st
1845 No 16 Edgebaston st not listed, so , whatever it was, by then it was not a pub.

So it looks as if the clock trade was maybe not so good and, if it is the saem person,
for a while he took the job of landlord at the Old Crown.

Will carry on after 1876 later today
