changes in Birmingham areas

if you are researching in Birmingham this will give an idea where to look as the areas change quite a lot over the years, also when researching in the the black country (staffordshire) some areas are in Birmingham also, example Kings Norton came under Staffs early on and now is Birmingham so bear this in mind in your research
Birmingham
Created 1st July 1837. Abolished 1st January 1925 (incorporated into Birmingham North and Birmingham South districts).
Sub-districts : All Saints; Lady Wood; St. George; St. Martin; St. Mary; St. Paul; St. Peter; St. Philip; St. Thomas
GRO volumes : XVI (1837-51); 6d (1852-1924).
Birmingham, Handsworth (from 1911), Ridgacre (from 1911), Yardley (from 1911).
Registers now in Birmingham district.



Birmingham North
Created 1st January 1925 (out of Aston, Birmingham, King's Norton and West Bromwich districts).
Sub-districts : Aston; Duddesdon; Erdington; Handsworth; Perry Barr.
GRO volumes : 6d (1925-1930).
Aston, Aston Manor, Beoley, Birmingham (part), Bordesley, Deritend, Duddeston cum Nechells, Erdington, Handsworth, Little Bromwich, Northfield, Perry Barr (from 1928), Quinton, Saltley and Washwood, Witton.
Registers now in Birmingham district.



Birmingham South
Created 1st January 1925 (renaming of Birmingham and Kings Norton districts).
Sub-districts : All Saints; Lady Wood; St. George; St. Martin; St. Mary; St. Paul; St. Peter; St. Philip; St. Thomas; Yardley. GRO volumes : 6d (1925-1930).
Balsall Heath, Birmingham (part), Edgbaston, King's Norton, Harborne, Ridgacre, Smethwick, Yardley.
Registers now in Birmingham district

1 - dunno, can't make it out, need a magnifying glass.
2 - The Red Lion opposite Kate Creeds restuarant. Willy Wrightons place in the distance, next to the detached house which is is still there.
