Hi,

I would like to find out where my great granddad was buried. I’m not sure of which cemetery to start my search in for the area he lived in.

George Garey born 13th June 1898 and died on the 18th November 1926 aged 28 at Dudley Road Hospital, he lived at 184 High Street Bordesley, Deritend in a back-to-back house so a poor family. George was probably buried in a public / common grave.

If someone could tell me what the common practice was at the time / area that would be a massive help.

Hi April 1977, I have checked Key Hill and Warstone Lane Cemeteries and he isn't listed there. I would try Witton Cemetery maybe an email to the office as Garey is an unusual name they won't have to search as you have the date of death. They may do one look up for free. If you have no luck there maybe Yardley Cemetery next. Good Luck Wendy.
