Caven James William

I am looking for information on this man,my maternal grandfather,potentially. He was born circa 1893,possibly scotland. First wife died,had two daughters. Eventually moved to Yardley and remarried around 1935 I think. Any information,especially about his first wife and two daughters would be useful. Occupation,carpenter.

and approx 6 from the 1919 marriage (too many to list)born 1920-1929.
I don't think the Caven/Smith marriage is yours because there was a child born 1937 when James had already married Helen.

On the Electoral Roll from 1935 Helen and James are living at 11 Plowden Rd,along with a William Ralph Holloway.
In 1939,just Helen and James.
In 1945 at Plowden Rd,there is:Helen and James,Linda Holloway,Alfred Holloway and Margaret E Caven(James' sister)
In 1950 and 1955 at 11 Plowden Rd there is :Helen and James,and Arthur and Linda Scragg.
