Cauliflower Ear (Eagle and Tun) pub

Mention has been made elsewhere of the closure of the old Eagle & Tun off Digbeth (corner of New Canal St and Banbury St). Does anybody remember it in its temporary guise as The Cauliflower Ear? I used it occasionally in the late 80s and there were boxing photos and memorabilia all around the walls, hence the change of name. I can't remember now but assume that the gaffer was an ex boxer and decided to create an early 'theme pub'! Any more info?

as most know demolished another victim of HS2

The pub didn't look temporary affair, Ansells treated the exterior very well it seems.

(Like The Horsehoe Stratford Road being The Toad Hall - that didn't work either).

My dad ran this pub 1996 it was called the collyflower ear then
