Occasionally you may get a file that you cannot open because you have'nt got the right program. Well I have used this site a couple of times with success and with no problems. Usually it is because someone sends a word or excel file that I can't open because I don't have an up to date version. This site converts them easily. https://www.zamzar.com/ and its free.
Anyone with Microsoft Office who finds they cannot open files written in the later versions (2007 & 2010) needs to download and install the Microsoft Compatibility Pack from https://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=3 This allows you to open and save files from/to the newer format.
