This one has my eyes positivly boggled.

Thomas Reynolds, Born 1817 in the village of Swindon,Wombourne Staffs. In 1891 is living in Swindon with his daughter Agnes age 35.
His job is what looks like ???cutter or castor maybe. Im at a loss..
Thanks for looking Jane..

Thats better a quick look I thought it said hair cutter. But I am sure someone will come up with a better answer. Carol

I think hair cutter too, though if you look back, he had a variety of jobs, general labourer and naylor being two of them, perhaps he took up hair cutting when he retired?
Sue

Thanks for looking guys. I like the idea of an ex nailer-ag labourer being a barber, I imagine all the blokes looking like hayricks lol
But Im not convinced. Looking through the census sheets and comparing the hand writing on other sheets I think the first word ends with " ier" and the next word the u is not like the writers other u's. It could be 2 letters.
The whole village of Swindon grew up around the ironworks , so maybe its a job to do with that industry.,I shall probably never know...

Problem sorted. Just recieved Thomas's sons marriage cert. Thomas and Alfred are down as being Osier cutters. It is the cutting of willow for basket making etc...Would never have got that from the handwriting.
