Button factory

Does anyone know if there was a button factory in Brookfields and if so what was it called. Thank you

Button making was an old Birmingham industry.

In 1834 a William Elliott had a "Button Works" on the corner of Frederick Street/Regent Street in the Jewellry Quarter. This was replaced by a new building in 1888. Buiulding became the Vertu Bar in 2006 and is now a bar and dining venue known appropriately as the BUTTON FACTORY.

Is this a possibility? Brookfields is by the Jewellry Quarter but is is quite likely there may have been other button works in the area. Just a thought.

Matthew Boulton made metal buttons at the Soho Manufactory, along with buckles and other things such as coins. The attached picture is typical of some of the work. It was definitely a developed capabilty.
