Looking for any information on James Charles Butler who lived in Aston and married Clara Howell in 1919.
she had a son Edwin Butler born Halifax in March 1919, she married James in June 1919, but Edwin was not registered (birth) untill 1927.
Clara was then married in Birmingham registry office to Walter Reed in 1934.
I cant find any details of James Butlers death or divorce,he seems to have dissapeared.

Any help , Graham

i wonder whether the death may be the one

james c butler 1963 bham aged 75yrs.

on the 1911 theres a james charles butler living with widowed mother emily butler. james is aged 22 (1889) so if that is the correct one, the death would be about right for age.

Many thanks Shera,
It looks like the same James, I know he worked in a cycle factory with his mother and was called into the army but only served a short while due to health reasons.I dont know how he met Clara but she did say that she worked at The Kings Head in Birmingham, on her marriage cert she gave the address as 21 Thorpe St. No idea what happehed to the marriage, when she re-married in 1934 she was supposed to be a spinster.

Graham.:P
