Hello everyone,
I am newish to the Forum and loving it.

Dont know if anyone is interested but I have an article in the current Brummagem magazine on Alum rock.
WendyP

Hi Wendy,

I haven't had my copy for this month yet, but will certainly have a look. My articles were in last year's September issue, and were on The Red Lion, Ladypool Rd. and Rover Tyseley.

Ann

Hi Ann

Nice to hear from you. I too havent seen a copy yet. As I live in Suffolk now, I dont get the magazine but we have friends here that have it and they will bring it round sometime this week. I am dying to see it - I keep telling everyone I am a famous author now!!
Wendy

Hi Wendy have it in front of me now. My brother and myself had an article in the December issue. I love reading Carl's mags and Pete always fetches one for me. Jean.

Hi Jean,
Does the article have any photos with it? I sent some but its been so long ago that I forgot what I sent! Thats senility for you!
Can you buy the mag. from Smiths because we have a Smiths here in Felixstowe and perhaps they will get it for me.
Wendy

Jean,

I don't know about you, but it cost me a fortune when mine were in. I can get plenty of copies from our post office, but the rest of the family, scattered round the country, couldn't get one. So I'd go and get another ten copies, send them off. Then somebody else wanted one....

Wendy,

I have posted on the other Brummagem magazine thread the subscription form for the mag. If you put it in the search box, you should find it.

Ann

Ann same hear and in the end had to let some of them down. Mine went to Kent Oldham Tenbury Wells etc but the good thing about mine is my Brother did a piece too and he saw to a lot of people. Jean.

Oh sorry Wendy I missed your post. It has a group photo of the Coronation Reginald road with uncle George on. Jean.

Hi Jean

Oh thats good, they did put the photo in. Yes "Uncle George" was the manager of the Rock cinema and altho he lived somewhere a bit posher than Alum Rock, he came to our Coronation party.
We had some great Saturday mornings at the Rock watching the cowboys and Laurel and Hardy!
Wendy

Wendy in case you can't find it. And it has all the contact details.

Ann

Ann you are so kind, thank you. I had found it actually. I am finding my way round the Forum now.
Is there a part of the Forum where you can look at peoples names to see if you know anyone. I havent found that yet.
Wendy

I lived in Ash Road, Saltley and Nansen Road, went to the Rock most Friday nights. Alum Rock Road was a great shopping area, everything you wanted.

Wendy if you go into search and type in cinema's you may come across that one if not I am sure someone on the forum will come up with a photo or two. Jean.
