BROWN LION HALL STREET HOCKLEY

That's sad - unfortunately some pubs find it hard to keep going these days and Covid will have been another nail in the coffin :(
At least the building is still there.

The new owner is however saving what he can and to be fair is investing a significantly greater amount of money than originally planned. In the past supporting walls and roof trusses had been illegally removed. The whole building could in fact have collapsed at any moment. The stained glass at the back is retained and the original vaulted cellar has been restored for the new tenants who I’m not at liberty to name. Needless to say most of us elderly members won’t be customers however the whole ground floor level on that side and the vaulted cellar will be able to be viewed during the shop opening hours.
