Like a lot of the wars not in the mainstream of culteral history (UN sponsered) they can be forgotten, like aden, cyprus, I have an old pal who was a national service lad only 18, served 11 months of hell, he says in korea not just the fighting but he recconed the cold and bad food crippled some of our lad's and not even a thank you when he came home.

not forgetting both Suez and Malaya, I was involved in an operation against the Mau Mau in Kenya 1950 , do not suppose any one as even heard of that !! admitted it was only a minor skirmish.

how very true cookie I do remember the mau mau, and all the atrociteys they committed not only against the white community but also the kukuru people, and the poor old national service lad's in malasia and suez all for around 2 bob a day. now these people are comming out of the woodwork and trying to claim thousands aided by the do gooder's from the "nasty colonial english", I will retire to bedlam.
