Briggs family Birmingham

Maypoleman

New Member
I have traced my BRIGGS family back to 1819 when Edward Briggs was born.
So far I have not been able to find a Baptism but it looks more likly that they were Presbyterian.
Because my father was 60 when I was born in 1948 (my father was born in 1889) I never meet my grand parents Arthur Briggs and Esther Grice.
Wonder if we have any more Briggs out there.
:)

Yes indeed Maypoleman,if you are still asking that question. My branch of the Briggs family lived in fact not far from the Maypole, residing in Peacock Cottage, next to the Prince of Wales pub, from 1951 to 1984. Currently researching my family tree, the paternal line has not as yet thrown up an Arthur, other than an Uncle born in 1904. The family is midlands based, my Father and Grandfather being born in Sparkhill and Balsall Heath repectively, with spouses from slightly further afield. My Great Grandfather, Isaac Briggs was from Curdworth and his Wife ,Elizabeth Turner from Redditch, they are the limit of research so far on their line. It's highly likely that we have a familial connection, so if any of my details ring any bells I would be pleased if you would respond. Regards, Roger Briggs.
