Does anyone remember the saying "It's black over Bills mothers" meaning the weather ,was this a Brummie saying :?:

i think it is well known , we use still ..and I think it is used eleswhere

Bills Mothers

The saying "Black over Bills Mothers", I was told originated from "Black over Wills Mothers" and referred to B,ham & area people looking Southerly weather wise towards Stratford.

Origin "Will" as William Shakespeare, hence Mom,s house etc

Don,t know if this is true or not so any opinions welcomed
