Hopefully I'm not in the wrong thread! I am wondering about upgrading my ancestry membership - mainly because I am stuck, trying to trace my ggg grandad 's parents/origins.( Thomas Herbert born 1808-10 in Appleford, Berkshire) Does anyone know if the upgrade to premium membership would help with this - or have any other ideas about where to go next? Many thanks, Karenanne

on the igi records theres a thomas herbert b. 24 aug 1809 chr. 3 sep 1809 in sutton courtenay, berkshire

parents william herbert and mary

i dont know if its the correct one but dont think its far from appleford

Shera, how do you do it! (You have helped me out before) I think you are right because I had tentatively linked Thomas to a William and Mary who are buried at Appleford and seemed to be the right age nto be his parents.. What is an igi record, am I being very thick? Karenanne

just google familysearch.org then click on search records, add his name etc and it should come up.

if it is correct then the marriage was william herbert to mary lovegrove on 19 apr 1809 at sutton courtenay berks.

If there is ever a forum meetup, I certainly owe you a drink! The name lovegrove appears as a middle name for two of my great great uncles and I have always wondered about it and presumed it might be a maiden name from somewhere. thanks again! Karenanne
