Birth Cert Informist

proper brummie kid
Hi all,i have a birth cert of my father-in-law's brother and on it it has her mother and fathers name on it,but the informant was a J.Barron who was the occupier at 77,Dudley Road which i know to be The Workhouse or Dudley Rd/City Hospital. Why would this have been? The cert is in the name of Dennis Arthur Turner born 5th March 1924 registered on the 7th March.Mother was Annie Maria Turner, father Herbert Lewis Turner.I'm curious to know the asnswer.Regards Willegofar

The address is indeed Dudley Road Hospital, i have had several relatives die there...maybe the informant was a clerk of the ward or hospital? Maybe if your relative died in hospital then the clerk automatically informed of the death?

It might have been the clerk, but if so it looks as if he lived at the Hospital. The electoral roll for 1925 gives only two J.Barrons, one of which is listed as being registered as living at The Hospital , 77 Dudley road.
John & Charlotte Snowden Barron are listed there in 1925, 1930 and 1935.
Neither are listed at all in the electoral rolls in 1920 or 1939
